A little more about me…

I worked as a GP in the NHS for years, but always felt like there was something missing in my life. I had become disillusioned over the years as a doctor, often feeling like I was at best offering sticking plasters on my patient's symptoms rather than getting to any root causes of their chronic illness.

More importantly, I felt there was something missing for me.

The pandemic caused many to reflect on their life and this was definitely the case for me.

For the first time, I asked myself what I truly wanted in this life. I reconnected with my own spirit. I rediscovered a joy through painting - something that had been missing for many years. I eventually transitioned from medicine and followed my heart to become an abstract painter.

Artist surrounded by her paintings

Through this journey I learnt so much about how powerful our subconscious mind and belief structures are. I discovered the real physical effects our thoughts can have on our body.

The more I learnt, the more I felt like I had stumbled across the missing piece: the mind-body connection. I learned how chronic stress affects our body. Stress which is often triggered by subconscious thoughts and beliefs. Especially when we live out of alignment with our spirit - who we really are deep down. This stress leads to unease and eventually shows up as  dis-ease in our body.

Your body has an innate ability for restoring wellness.  It has an amazing ability to keep in harmony and balance, however those systems are dialled down in chronic stress. As a doctor I gave you medication to help you from the 'outside'. Now I work in a completely non medical way to help you create the 'inner' conditions for your healing to take place.

A bit more about my art:

I create abstract paintings which are intuitive and act as a meditative space allowing for pause and refection for myself and hopefully for the viewer too. I use vibrant colours and texture to convey the depths of my inner landscape on canvas. All the paintings you can see on this website are my own!

I started painting again because I felt called to reconnect with Art. I’ve been lucky enough to win a few awards along the way. I work from a studio in Sheffield and have participated in many group exhibitions.
